Caramel Apple Slices

These caramel apple slices are such a fun snack treat to make, especially during the height of apple season during the fall months.

Caramel apples are so popular, but let be honest, they can be annoying to eat without making a bit of a mess. The way this version is made will reduce all mess so you can just focus on enjoying!

Ingredients for apple caramel nachos

Apples: Granny Smith mixed with Gala or Honey crisp, sliced.
Salted caramel sauce: To taste.
White chocolate chips: You could also use regular chocolate chips if you prefer.
Toffee pieces: Adds a delightful texture and sweetness.
M&M candies: I suggest the mini size.
Pretzels: Broken in pieces.
Sprinkles: Regular, or seasonal!

How to make caramel apple slices

Step 1: Prepare your display platter by lining with parchment (or foil) for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Core and slice the apples.  If the apples are going to sit out a bit before serving, toss them in a tablespoon of lemon juice to keep from browning (optional).  If serving immediately, there is no need for this.

Step 4: Drizzle the apples with the caramel sauce.

Step 3: Arrange the apples on your display platter – start with an even layer and continue to build and fill in gaps as needed.

Step 5: Sprinkle with the white chocolate chips, broken pretzel pieces, toffee pieces, M&M candies, and sprinkles to decorate.  Feel free to add additional toppings or change out for your desired tastes.  Other notable toppings include peanuts, crushed Oreos, crushed graham crackers, mini chocolate chips, cinnamon/sugar, etc.

  • 3 Gala or Honeycrisp apples sliced
