Storage suggestions

This recipe is best eaten shortly after making. I wouldn’t keep this around for too long in the fridge. Any dessert that calls for fruit that is wet and yogurt or whipped topping you can bet will separate in the fridge after a day or two.

Common Questions

Is orange fluff a healthy dessert?

I think this is a great choice for healthy dessert recipes. The Greek yogurt in this recipe gives it a nice amount of protein which will help you feel full longer.

The protein is also great for giving you energy and the natural sweetness of the fruit gives you plenty of kick to balance out the plain yogurt taste!

Does orange fluff dessert have Jell-O?

Yes! This Weight Watchers dessert recipe calls for Jell-O. It isn’t prepared like normal gelatin though, it’s just the powder that is included in this tasty recipe. You’ll get a nice punch of flavor without all the extra sugar and calories associated with some other options. Remember, you’re using sugar-free Jell-O.

How can I lower the WW points in a fluff recipe?

I don’t consider this a particularly high points dessert so I wouldn’t worry about that too much BUT if you want to lower the points here are some suggestions: Omit the mini marshmallows altogether.

They don’t do much for the recipe but add a bit more sweetness and texture and you can definitely do without them if need be.

Another way to lower the points is by using fresh fruit. If you want you can use mandarin oranges and just peel them, chop them up a bit, and that will help reduce the points!

  1. Used to make something similar to this 40+ years ago. Used cottage cheese instead of yogurt. And no marshmallows needed if using regular jello. Let sit all night in the refrigerator. Also great with lime jello; no oranges but add chopped pecans instead and the cottage cheese substitution. And it will keep for at least 3 days in refrigerator but usually it gets eaten up with no leftovers! But remember to let it sit overnight in the refrigerator to set. Adjust ingredients to your taste.

    1. @Terri, I use cottage cheese in place of the yogart and mix with the jello and then add other ingredients. No points with cottage cheese!

  2. What size can of pineapple is used?

    1. 20 oz pineapple and 15 oz mandarin oranges. Thanks for pointing out that was missing. I added it to the recipe card.

Excited to try this recipe. My Gram made something similar to this for holidays and I’ve never been able to find the recipe. Could you please tell me the size (# ounces) for the cans of fruit?

  4. I would recommend more specificity on the Jello. 3oz of sugar free Jello is incorrect. Sugar free comes in packages/boxes that are .44 oz. So, in reading your recipe it could appear that one would need 6 boxes. Regular Jello does come in 3 oz packages. This appears to be an adaption from the full-suave recipe. Hope that helps!

  5. Orange fluff dessert add the marshmallows has you eat it that way they don’t get soggy
